Khalil Roukoz

Khalil Roukoz (Arabic: خليل_روكز) (December 1922 – 27 November, 1962) He was born in Wadi al-Limon, in the district of Jezzine. Khalil Roukoz started his zajal performances at the age of 17 and went on to become one of the most successful poets of the early 60s. In his zajal recitations, he dealt with the problems of his society and his pain to see the “chaos of corruption of human nature” and “degeneration of politics”.
